In this course students will explore the anatomy and physiology of the human body. Students will gain an introductory level knowledge of the musculoskeletal and neurological systems. Assessment and treatment techniques for a variety of sports injuries will be addressed as well as injury care and management. In addition to instruction in human anatomy, kinesiology and physiology, training in first aid, CPR, wrapping and taping techniques will be presented. Upon completion of the course, the student will meet the qualifications for employment in one or more of these entry-level positions: physical therapy aide, athletic trainer aide, and exercise assistant.
